Description
The new round a bout inner curb radius is too small for two lanes of traffic on Old Alabama Connector for the approaching speed and not functional for large trucks in the right lane. While it definitely slows down the speeders, the round a bout wears out tires due to the sharp turn radius at advised speeds. The round a bout sneaks up on you around a curve if your traveling Old Alabama Conn. Southbound where the signage gives a short notice of the round a bout and the inner brick curbing is not well marked where cars run over it. As you exit the round a bout continuing southbound on Old Alabama, the curbing and marking causes you to swerve quite a lot as the road is set at an angle to the round about. It is the smallest round a bout I know of in the area, especially for 4 lanes. Almost as if it was designed for two lanes of traffic. A quick fix may be to shave the 4 outer curb corners for a smoother entry and exit for traffic on Old Alabama Connector. I would also suggest using grading bumps ( not speed bumps) for vibration instead of tons of reflectors on the pavement since there is a lot of turning and these reflectors are know to tear tires.
