The light which has already been approved still hasn't been put up and they need a crosswalk like Pionono Avenue and Montpelier Ave. Has. Young kids without any adult supervision are still crossing the road day and night. They are crossing next to the roadway leading to Walmart. A crosswalk needs to be put to the left of the Walmart extrance that is next to the magic market. People who want to turn right into Walmart will just have to stop and wait. If the kids are taught to use the crosswalk in the same spot they actually cross the road at,then people will be watching for people crossing in that spot.

When are they going to put up the approved light. Why is it taking Georgia Power months to put up the safety light. This street light should be a top priority over the other light placements or bulb changes. They should be prioritized according to if kids need the light, how busy the street is, if the light is for safety at night during street crossings, etc. You should begin prioritizing which approved lights get put up first... Not go in order. Also why is Georgia Power months and months behind on putting this light up.

Nothing has been done yet. It'll be bad if a kid gets killed and it could have been prevented.

Well the city isn't doing enough to stop pedestrian's getting hit by cars. They need get this crosswalk up. I have another suggestion for a new click fix

I still haven't seen a light put up even though it was approved before I put in this request. Pedestrians are dying all across the city and at least one third of the people crossing the road from the apartments to Walmart are children. You put up crosswalks for a school but not for children crossing at other places. The city talks about preventing deaths but you have so much red tape that you don't walk the walk and never get the problems fixed. You should ask Walmart to put in a sidewalk and you will put in the crosswalk to save a little Life. I won't close this because if a child dies by vehicular manslaughter. Then I want proof that you could have prevented the death. The ADA laws state that there is supposed to be a sidewalk and ramps between nearby neighborhoods and a local grocery store. But that hasn't been done in the city of Macon. It's supposed to allow disabled people to get to local grocery stores. That law can make you fix Walmart via a sidewalk, ramps, and crosswalks. If you don't fix it following at least the ADA laws then I will have to file a ADA complaint about no assess to a local grocery store by disabled people from the local residential areas in a years time. That should give you enough time to follow the law. At least at Walmart. You won't do anything for Safety voluntarily without a fight.

I still haven't seen a light put up. Plus they expect people to pay $100 for a study of different things to get done to save the city from expensive lawsuits against the city for not providing safe crosswalks for CHILDREN and places where large amounts of children cross the road. Hopefully you will luck out and no kids will get run over there because there are no lights or crosswalks.

Ideally that entrance and exit to Walmart should be closed for cars with cement baracade so pedestrians can use it to go to Walmart and force traffic to use the other entrances and exits on Eisenhower Pkwy and further down the road from the apartments. That would be the cheapest fix.

It supposedly costs $100 for a crosswalk study and I don't live right there. If a child gets run over and killed. I will just let them have pictures of the screenshots from this request in case they want to sue the city for not making it safer to cross the road there. A red light would have to stop all ways when a child hits a cross button so they can cross without any cars moving. Plus Walmart should be required to pay for the sidewalk going to Walmart.

Plus I still haven't seen a light on a pole that they said was approved like over a year ago and I drove by there around 5 weeks ago and looked on both sides of the road at chambers Rd and Walmart and I didn't see any light pole there. So that hasn't been installed yet by Georgia power despite being approved and scheduled.

I am not closing this. You will have to. I have screenshots of this numerous times. If a child gets killed crossing the road, I will have to turn over copies of this and report that they need to get freedom of information filed to get this from you to that attempts were made numerous times to get a crosswalk, lights (which were approved but still isn't there), plus a sidewalk along the side of the road to Walmart is needed. Too many kids live in those apartments and they are BLACK almost 100% and I hate to use the race card because I am white, but they will probably have NAACP on the city of Macon if a black child is run over there and you refused to put in a crosswalk, lights, sidewalk, etc that could have prevented their deaths. Those apartments should be paying a lot in City and county taxes and the traffic has gotten alot worse since they put in the majic market across the street from the apartments. Making them cross chambers Rd more and more often.

Like I said I am not closing the issue. Too many young kids are crossing the road there more often than a school crossing. It's not if a child is going to be killed and run over there, it's when they will be run over. You need at least a red light and cross walks there at the Walmart and Chambers Road intersection. Walmart needs to be required to pay for the sidewalk to the Walmart store. The people who live here and drive thru there may be extremely careful, but too many strangers are driving through Macon and Chambers Road is right off the interstate and near all the hotels. They speed down the road and don't know that kids cross there all the time. Mark my words, a kid is going to be killed there by a car at some point in time. And I am going to be able to give the parents evidence that you had ample opportunity to put in crosswalks, lights, sidewalks, a red light etc. To keep the kids safe. But you haven't even put the approved light there. Even people from the local neighborhoods Walk to Walmart. The ADA laws state that cities are supposed to have sidewalks, ramps, crosswalks between residential areas nearby and a grocery store.. so the wheelchair disabled people can wheel themselves to the grocery store, but you are not abiding by the ADA laws in the entire city. Every single handicapped parking spot is supposed to be 27 feet wide and marked correctly. But the city evidently can't even afford paint.
