We are concerned that the city is violating its' own law regarding alcohol consumption in public on public property. The plan to eliminate , albeit temporarily, parking places by the Drifters Bar to facilitate a sitting area for alcohol and food (Eat in Street" plan)... in a residential neighborhood seems ludicrous.
If a downtown biz's wants to give up crucial parking for increased revenue, That is up to them and their neighbors. However, These parking spots here on North Winooski ave are few and far between and the local residences and small Biz owners are out in great Numbers trying to save them from the city's plan to turn North Winooski into a bike path.
Who can we go to with our valid concerns on this street drinking issue?..We live 100 yards form this! no one asked us...we need these spots daily, as a lack just increases the driveway encroachment issue...on and on...please rethink this plan. Thank you..
