Okay, I just dropped this request in the mail. How long does this usually take and will the sidewalk be ready for when school starts?

From PInellas County Schools: We would support the request for the addition of sidewalks in this area.

Sidewalks should be finished by the end of the year.

Please provide an update. Sidewalk has not been started and children don't have a safe path to the school bus.

Okay. I have reopened this issue as we still have children walking home from school on this dangerous stretch without a sidewalk. Can we get an update please?

If this helps, it looks like some clearing has been done to prepare for the sidewalk.

UPDATE: The City of Clearwater applied for State funding but were not able to get it at this time, so cannot proceed with a sidewalk at this location. The sidewalk would require us to build a $50,000 boardwalk as well over a flood prone area and we don’t have the funding in-house at the moment to build this.

Then the city needs to look at moving these kids bus stops!! Having a child walk a mile to a bus stop with a portion on a curvy wooded dangerous road without a sidewalk is insane! My child is in middle school and no way I would let her walk this! So instead I'm having to drive her.

Can the funding come from Pinellas County Schools?
