The homeless people in Carmichael are getting out of control. There are groups living behind Goodwill and the Safeway center with large, unlicensed, unleashed dogs. They loiter too close to the entrance of businesses in the area with the dogs, making it unsafe for my children to enter. They loiter on and encroach on public sidewalks and public parks. There is at least one large pit bull and one large rottweiler. It is bad enough we need to deal with these people everywhere, but now I am having to get into constant confrontations with them about their dogs endangering my kids. Please have Animal Control make the rounds in Carmichael and where they spot large dogs without tags, please impound the dogs so that they need to prove rabies shots and license status to get them back. These are aggressive breeds with no behavioural training and I feel that my family is no longer safe in their own neighborhood. I am a homeowner and taxpayer. I should not have to walk my kids into the street to avoid these people and their vicious dogs, nor should I have to get bit to get them off the street, as none of them have a visible County dog license.
