Description

There is at least one accident a month on average at the intersection of Eagleville, Sunnyside and Pinetown Roads. Pinetown and Sunnyside approach Eagleville at an angle that makes seeing the traffic difficult. Also, the roads meet at the top of a grade that angles the headlights of oncoming traffic upward into the driver's eyes, blinding them.

I am the resident of the corner property of Pinetown/Sunnyside/ and Eagleville roads. I totally agree with you. We have lost count of how many accidents have occured at this intersection! I usually call 911 as soon as hearing the crash. The township wants to put a light on the corner of my property, but it would only be a blinking light Red/Yellow. The same way the stop is now. I do not think this would fix the problem at all, because the traffic would still not be stopping on Eagleville Road. The issue is that Eagleville Road is a State Road and I believe the Township should be communicating with Penndot to get a Four way Stop or a Normal Traffic Signal, before serious injury or death occurs.

This corner is a deathtrap. I've almost been hit here a couple of times. Visibility is atrocious. Just remember, if u state this prob. to PennDot and they do NOT fix it, and the accident happens to u, a lawsuit may be in order.

I totally agree. I ride a motorcycle and can see an accident waiting to happen. In as much as I am not a proponent of STOP signs this junction definitely needs one. Wish there is an alternative to STOP like maybe complete slow down to 15 mph etc.

The police chief in lower providence wanted a traffic light installed here but because the Methacton School District wanted a light at Eagleville & Arcola Rds. and the taxpayers were paying for it, l.p. agreed to put one there. I live on Eagleville Rd. had have missed being hit more times than I can count at this intersection. Start going to the l.p. meetings and keep compaining, but be forewarned, they will tell you there is no money, but they put in a right turn lane at ridge pk. and trooper rd.
