either the city needs to build a second bridge or they need to add lanes to the existing bridge, so that the 4 lanes continue in their directions but if they add one new on ramp and one exit with their own prospective lanes, I think that this will help the flow, esp when there is large haul trucks and trailers that need to block 2 lanes to move equipment, or when the bridge goes down for service every 2 years.
The concrete barracades keeping vehicles from killing the pedestrians are crumbling on that bridge. City is too broke from soccer centre and Rawlinson Centre to fix anything. They had to wait till they had coin to put the final layer on 28th St, remember the big lip at the intersection of 6 ave w and 28 St.
pa has needed a second bridge for almost the past thirty years that i know of.All the mayors in this time have promised one but have never actually fought too hard for one.I dread the day the bridge does collapse just like the one in minnesota due to a degenerated state.Saskatoon keeps getting more bridges and can't keep up the ones they have.If this bridge does collapse which it will eventually the city will be screwed there are fairys that acess the south from the north but they don't operate on ice breaker mode.we are sick of the promises for a second bridge instead of us actually getting one mayors are building swimming pools for themselves(paid with tax payers money) and getting away with impaired driving.I know power corrupts but this is starting to border on ridiculous
umm the reason saskatoon is getting another bridge is because they are demolishing the oldest one. you really think the city of pa can afford a new bridge brighten up our little bit of taxes from 40,000 ppl compared to 300,000 ppl in saskatoon. we need alot of money from the provincal and federal government to get one!!!
The bridge really needs work going North. What's going to happen when someone loses a tire from the potholes? Is City Hall going to pay for those repairs because they are the ones that are spending money in other places besides fixing roads.
Also, where is the bridge going to be in 10 years if they don't fix it right the first time? People living North won't be able to get home or nobody will be able to visit our beautiful lakes.
Come on City of Prince Albert, Do something about this. We have only one bridge!
Lol, good point but you might as well go in a closet and complain to yourself. This council is oblivious to anything overwhelmingly obvious. The bridge could definetely use some resurfacing as well as concrete baracades that are not crumbling and maybe a coat of paint, that 20 yr old hospital mint green paint makes me dry heave a I pass under it, but really it fits in with the whole theme of this crap whole we call p.a. Good luck getting that bridge some attention, we got about 80% of the city that needs a complete road resurfacing, not to mention 80% of all alleys need to be rebuilt and redone. Last I checked it was a $50,000,000 back log of road work, which seems like a low estimate considering alot of places in p.a no longer have curbs anymore(grass grown over them). Lets build another soccer centre then.
I see the recently upgraded concrete barriers are crumbling away to the point where the guard rail is falling down on one side. I've never seen that happen in any other city, why is it happening to our bridge? I think it's seeing more use than one bridge can handle. Sure we're only 40,000 people but our city also provides the main access to industry and tourism the north. The government should take that into consideration when it comes to funding.
