still no heat or hot water at 1535 taylor ave. it is 6am and there are folks in the hall screaming, at the super, how there is not hot water to take a shower/bath. no heat to warm the apt. this is because milbank real estate hasen't done there part as a landlord. there are more issues with this building but at present this is the most important. there has got to be someone out there to help us.

thank you penny the heat and hot water came on this morning 11-20-10. it is warm and cozy and i was able to put my hands under warm water, no longer needing to heat it on the stove. thank you

I called your council member, Anabelle Palma, today and spoke to one of her staff members. He said they were unfortunately well aware of Milbank's terrible reputation with buildings in the Bronx, but that Ms. Palma is on a distressed housing task force and cares a lot about this issue.
I asked him to please help get you emergency heating while city officials pressure Milbank to maintain its buildings in accordance with housing regulations.
Please call her office:
718 792 1140 and ask all your neighbors to call her office, too. The more pressure you can put on the city officials, they more likely they are to help. Please also call the journalist at the New York Times who wrote that article about Milbank (I sent you the link). Maybe he/she would do a follow-up and see children and elderly suffering this freezing weather without heat or hot water.
And please keep posting (rather than private emails) using Milbank in your post. When anyone does a search for Milbank, your posts will appear and hopefully start to embarrass them.

well , @5:49am, 12-11-10, the heat is comming on at 1535 Taylor ave..we don't know how long this will last so we will relax for now . thanks. there are many violations with Milbank Real Estate and they too ned to be attended to . There are small children ,who run through the halls,with broken windows that are baddly in need of repairs, before these children get hurt. These are windows that the frame is being held together with nun other than... ,yup you guessed it ,"duct tape". Milbank R.E. needs to be held accountable.

to the thanks of the seeclickfix team/site, the tenants of 1535 taylor ave have a fixed boiler and oil delivered . The LL MILBANK REAL ESTATE has left the tenants with so many issues, including no poter, the halls are dirtier than the street outside. one of the broken windows has been fixed, but there is another broken window in the hall, this is about to come right out of the frame leaving the flokes who enter the building at risk of getting very badlly hurt. there are empty apts that have a board instead of a door , these empty apts. have been stripped down to the brick. the garbage piles up on the side of the building . its a shame that a city of this size can allow LandLords to get away with this tragidy. MILBANK REAL ESTATE recieved many summons but still the problem excists. Where is the bank that loaned the $$ and gave the mortage for this building, .
