Description
Please advocate on our behalf with either MassDOT, that owns these barrels, or DCR, who may or may not still on this section of road, to have whatever they are guarding repaired so they can be removed.
When traffic approaches the traffic light here, people start making two lanes, but immediately have to reconverge when they come upon this. It’s an unsafe situation, and they have been there long.

This stretch of Mystic Valley parkway is legally only one lane eastbound until after the pedestrian crossing.
When motorists form two lanes approaching the crossing, they present a “multiple threat” crash hazard to people crossing, especially because so many motorists completely ignore the crossing light when it is red light here.
MassDOT or DCR need to re-paint the worm off lines to single-lane, from Winthrop all the way up to the crosswalk, so motorists know to stay single file. Maybe the barrels are there awaiting roadway striping.
