This stretch of Mystic Valley parkway is legally only one lane eastbound until after the pedestrian crossing.

When motorists form two lanes approaching the crossing, they present a “multiple threat” crash hazard to people crossing, especially because so many motorists completely ignore the crossing light when it is red light here.

MassDOT or DCR need to re-paint the worm off lines to single-lane, from Winthrop all the way up to the crosswalk, so motorists know to stay single file. Maybe the barrels are there awaiting roadway striping.

I drive here every day going to work. Drivers sure do run that red, and whip around other drivers stopped at the light to run the red. See it almost every day. I also cross here on my bike a lot, and am never sure people will stop.

I was agreeing that car drivers often run the red here and pass stopped cars to run it. I’m here daily for my work commute.
