Sidewalk: Snow/Ice Removal Archived135 Park Street Medford, MA, 02155, USA - MedfordThese folks on the corner never, ever clear the Central Ave part of the sidewalk. I just slipped and fell on some ice on the Central Ave section of the sidewalk. Ice was under a thin puddle of melting water so it was impossible to see. I am hurt!!

Park & Recreation Issues Archived19 Magoun Avenue Medford, MA, 02155, USA - MedfordThere are dog feces all over Magoun Park. It’s disgusting. I stopped walking my own dog there because every visit, I’d step in feces if we walked on any grassy area. It probably doesn’t help that the Mutt Mitt dispensers have been empty for months, and that this sign about picking up after your dog is at least 12’ up the pole. It’s really sad because when the park was closed for COVID, the DPW cleaned it up very nicely. Can at least the mutt mitts be refilled? Maybe that’ll prompt some people to pick up. This park is heavily used by kids and it’s really disgusting.

Snow/Ice Removal Archived202 Washington St Medford 02155, United States - MedfordPretty much the entire length of Washington Street between Spring Street and Park Street is unshoveled on the odd-numbered side. Most of these are houses on double lots and they do not shovel the rear sidewalks of their property. This route is heavily used by kids walking to school and you’re forced to walk in the street because of the unshoveled sidewalks. This is a problem every single winter. Please address with these property owners.

Snow/Ice Removal Archived31-43 Otis St Medford, MA, 02155, USA - MedfordNeither of the city sidewalks abutting Logan Park have been shoveled at all yet. They are, as of today, long stretches of ice. Please have the city clear them.

Traffic/Street Issue Archived19 South St Medford 02155, United States - MedfordIn this picture, I am in the left turn lane at the intersection of South Street and Main Street. I am at the stop line. You can see to the left that the height of the weeds totally blocks the sight line onto Main Street. Please trim these weeds as soon as possible at this very dangerous intersection. Thank you

Private Property Issue Archived193–299 Washington St Medford 02155, United States - MedfordThe owner of the building block at the corner of Spring Street and Washington Street has still not trimmed back the weeds and Japanese knotweed that is encroaching the sidewalk. It’s almost impossible to walk on the sidewalk. This issue has been open for a very long time. Some of the neighbors who abut have cut back on the weeds, but the property owner on the corner has not.

Traffic Issue Archived232 Riverside Ave Medford, MA, 02155, USA - Medford
This request is not specific to the address listed but pertains to all of Riverside Avenue.
I recently submitted a request for traffic speed indicators (reading "your speed" and indicating the 25 mph speed limit) along Riverside Avenue in an attempt to cut down on the speeding of cars and trucks, which makes walking and bicycling along Riverside Avenue very unsafe.
The police sergeant replied to my previous request noting there are no places along Riverside Ave. where a traffic speed indicator could be placed, because there are no shoulders to the street.
However, I noticed that West Medford has at least two utility pole mounted traffic speed indicators. Since there are lots of utility poles on Riverside Avenue, perhaps we can get at least two (one facing east, one facing west) here.
I have given up on requests to enforce "no trucking" on Riverside Ave as I understand that's very difficult for the police to do and they have other priorities. It's unfortunate as they are the worst speeding offenders.

Traffic Issue Archived208 Riverside Ave Medford, MA, 02155, USA - MedfordThere is constant speeding down Riverside Avenue by cars and trucks at all times of the day. Since there's no shoulder on Riverside, this makes bicycling and even walking down Riverside terrifying, as trucks barrel by at high speeds. Can we get one of those signs that indicate a vehicle's speed and reiterates the 25mph speed limit, as a traffic calming measure? Alternatively, some speed limit enforcement by Medford PD? Thank you.

Medford 02155 United States - MedfordDear neighbors – if you were the people who shot off fireworks in Magoun Park on the Fourth of July, please go back and clean up all your debris and garbage. All the garbage you left on the basketball court has ruined the park for kids over this long weekend. PS “thank you” for shooting off fireworks illegally, and scaring the crap out of my veteran father with PTSD. Real neighborly of you.

Park & Recreation Issues ArchivedMedford 02155 United States - MedfordThe “neighbors“ who shot off fireworks in Magoun Park on the Fourth of July left a huge amount of debris all over the basketball court. Nice of them to do that on a long weekend, so kids can’t play on the basketball court. Really infuriating.

Private Property Issue Archived180 Washington St Medford 02155, United States - MedfordOvergrown foliage needs its annual cutting back between Sheridan St and Spring St. (the foliage is growing on several private properties). Overgrown foliage forces people to walk in the street.

Traffic Issue Archived28–34 Washington St Medford 02155, United States - MedfordWhile very few people actually stop at the westbound facing stop sign on Washington Street, no one stops at the eastbound facing stop sign on Washington Street. This intersection is very poorly marked, there is one faded pedestrian crosswalk and no stop lines. Lots of kids and commuters walk here in the morning, including me, to get to buses on Salem Street. How about some actual painted on the street crosswalks, a pedestrian activated crosswalk signal, and then you can probably get rid of the stop signs all together. They don’t seem to work anyway.

Traffic Signal Issue Archived82–94 Riverside Ave Medford 02155, United States - MedfordPlease consider re-timing the lights at the intersection of Clippership Drive and Riverside Avenue during morning rush hour. Every morning there is a westbound line of at least 30 cars waiting to go through that intersection. There are very few cars coming around Clippership Drive. A very cursory inspection by the traffic department would confirm this. This line of traffic is one of the things that makes it very dangerous to bike on Riverside Avenue, which I often do. The traffic move so slowly that people get enraged and sometimes even try to go around other cars.

Often small dogs are in the large dog park, which means many large dogs can’t go in. I’ve spent quite a lot of time alone in the small dog park with my big dog, or had to leave, because people bring very small dogs in the main dog park. Many dogs play fine with dogs of their own size but roughly with small dogs which can quickly get seriously injured.
Prominent signage at all dog park entrances, such as "for every dog’s safety and enjoyment, dogs below 30 pounds should use the small dog park, to the east of this gate” and on the small dog park, "for every dog’s safety and enjoyment, dogs over 30 pounds should use the large dog park, to the west of this gate."
