The litter problem is particularly bad between Currie Park and downtown West Palm Beach. This waterfront open space needs to be incorporated into Currie Park.
The trash receptacles appear to be serviced more regularly, which is a step in the right direction. But the litter is still very heavy at times and not cleaned up any where near frequently enough. This unsightly state would never be permitted in so many other areas of West Palm Beach. And when the maintenance crews come, instead of first picking up the litter, they mow over it, shredding it into bits and spreading it all over.
Litter remains an ongoing problem in Currie Park. The waste receptacles are few and far between and ugly/unpleasant to use. There are no recycling receptacles. There is no signage encouraging proper behavior. Our city can do better than this.
