No one listened to how bad a design this was, and now we have to deal with it it. You make the pedestrian island/road blocking extension too long, so a left hand turn from westbound Scio-Church onto southbound 7th is super unnatural, because you either have to be way into the intersection or make a wide swing right to get around the island to the narrow southbound lane. Either of which puts you into the intersection traffic, particularly in the path of the Scio-Church eatbound turning left/north on 7th traffic. It's an unsafe mess that is going to end with an accident in the intersection or someone bottoming out their car on the island. Probably both.
