Description

there are several people at all hours smoking crack & selling marijuana at the corner of East Martin & Camden St. They also sit on the stairs of the church & solicit themselves to passersby. When police sit in the E Martin strip mall, this stops but they're back within minutes after police leave. This is extremely unsafe & can get violent after dark.

Wow. That was a quick response from RPD. I just got back from an errand and RPD has part of Martin Street East of Camden Street blocked and crime scene marked all around there. Thanks to all. Now if they could go arrest that Hooker sitting on the Bus Stop bench in the 1200 block of East Lane Street. It's great to see East Martin cleaning up.

Sadly the RPD wasn't there for this open issue. They were there because of a shooting up on E Martin and Freeman.

This issue has been referred to the Southeast District Station for investigation, an update will be posted once we hear back from them.

Per RPD: our Drugs and Vice team completed an undercover operation in this area on 8/30/13. Several arrests were made. RPD will continue to monitor the area, but as always if you see a crime in progress call us on the 911 line so that we can respond. Thank you.
