Description

The stretch of road from Springfield Ave and Fairview Ave until Springfield Ave and Harrison Court is extremely dangerous. Cars and Trucks (esp. Garbage trucks) seem to ignore the speed limit due to the long straight away. More and more families with small children have moved onto this stretch of road over the last couple of years and I do not want to hear about or see a tragedy happen. There is a solar speed limit sign near the Red Cross going west on Springfield but it does not work when it's cloudy/raining out (which is really unbelievable to me and so dangerous when cars whip around that curve onto the straight away going West). I hope the town replaces that solar speed limit sign with something much more effective (and actually works during bad weather). I also think it would be a very good idea to put in speed bumps during this stretch of road (like Ashland and other high traffic streets have). I do see the Police every once in a while checking car speeds but unfortunately it is not done on the straight away. It is usually done before the straight away on Springfield Ave closer to Summit.
Thanks.
