Everyday that I come home from my 3rd shift job, there are car after car passing me at 30-35 miles per hour driving through the school zone. Someone is always riding my bumper, until they can get around me.
no one in school zone walks to school even with sidewalk streets-only time police do speed traps is when school starts in august there should be no school zone.
Right, however if the light is on, you must reduce speed by a school zone. You have to go 20. It's aggravating on holidays when school isn't in session.
you cant fix stupid, no matter what school zone it is people speed. I guess you could leave a cop car there every single day but wouldn't that just be a waste of money all because you are annoyed that drivers are on your tail for the 2 mins you are in a school zone?
I would like to agree with with Allie and msroncon, because I also respect the school zone signs. I also agree because if I was to speed up with the traffic I would most likely be the one to get the ticket, LMAO. So I would like to make a comment of my own please. Laws are made to serve people and not the other way around, either respect the law or change the law, this is not hard people. If I am driving in a school zone that is flashing it would be to your best interest to go around because I am playing safe and not sorry. God bless.

Speeding and light running happens up & down Lost Nation. There is not ONE location where people respect the speed limit or traffic laws, including the McKinley school zone. Both the Willoughby & Eastlake police, and Mayor Ted have told us in the past that it is just not worth pulling someone over for speeding unless it is greater than 12MPH over. Doing the math that means school zones are now 32MPH zones. What would be nice would be to rent the Timberlake police to sit there. Heaven forbid you go a couple MPH over.
And mescudi, how is a police officer doing their job a waste of money? Apparently school zones are insignificant to you and you are one of the culprits that do this. Obviously your child does not go to Grant. Would you do 20MPH on Hurricane, Gale or Reeves where kids do walk to school AND still have no sidewalks?
Some of that problem is the drivers heading south on 306. They get into the school zone and then get stopped at the light at Bellflower. Once the light turns green they've forgotten they're in a school zone. There needs to be another school zone light near the red light to remind people.
Yes, this is true. I also think they need a blinking light on the side of the road. Sometimes with weather or whatever, people can't see the school zone light as far down as it is.....
