Roswell Signal Operations staff thoroughly inspected the pedestrian features at the intersection of King Road @ SR-92 and found all of the buttons to be working properly and sending the proper signals to the traffic signal controller to bring up the WALK indications. This signal has a relatively long signal cycle because of the amount of time needed for E/W SR-92 (approximately 3 minutes), and therefore several phases can occur before the pedestrian WALK phase to cross SR-92 is displayed simultaneously with the north and south through green for King Road. If the button is pressed within a few seconds before the start of the north/south through green phase of King Road, or during that phase, you will have to wait a complete cycle for the pedestrian phase to come up again. The pedestrian button does not pre-empt or shorten the regular sequence of signal phases.
Our signal operations section will continue to monitor the pedestrian operation over the next several days.
