The intersection continues to degrade as the older pavement abutting the new has eroded with the weather. There are new muddy tire tracks that prove cars and trucks are continuing to drive off the road trying to negotiate the turn.

The metal post at the edge of the pavement has been removed. Apparently it was only placed there for the benefit of snow plow trucks. As a result, more and more cars are driving off the side of the road when turning right onto Erie Ave. It has become a big, muddy mess, and the edge of the pavement continues to deteriorate. Vehicles turning out of Erie Ave. habitually take up too much of the road, because the intersection appears wider than it really is.

Franconia Township has announced plans to rebuild Erie Avenue, beginning in 2012, that appear to address the problem.

Local residents are protesting plans to widen their street and add sidewalks.

In a February 21 meeting, Franconia Township officials annouced that construction on Erie Avenue will begin in May 2012.

Conditions are worse in order to get better. A construction sign currently prevents motorists from driving off the edge of the pavement at the corner, further narrowing the entrance to Erie Avenue from Cowpath Road. Traffic on Erie Avenue has reduced considerably due to the ongoing construction project.

The condition of the intersection remains the same as the Erie Avenue construction project continues.

Erie Avenue is closed, except to local traffic, while construction continues on end of the street near Telford Borough. The intersection with Cowpath road remains unimproved.

The construction sign has been removed while Erie Avenue is reopened for the winter. Drivers must still take care when making a right turn onto the street to avoid going off the edge of the pavement.

New potholes have formed at the end of the street. Drivers need to take extra care making right turns onto Erie Avenue from Cowpath road.

The potholes at the end of Erie Avenue continue to expand. Apparently, Franconia Township plans to wait to address them when the ongoing road reconstruction project eventually reaches Cowpath Road. In the meantime, drivers need to be extra careful to avoid them.

Erie Avenue is closed to all but local traffic most weekdays during construction. It is open to intrepid travelers nights and weekends.

With curb installation complete as part of the Erie Avenue reconstruction, it appears the intersection will be widened considerably when the project is finished. For now, the entrance is quite narrow, when the road is not closed completely.
