Description
Speeding on Kennedy Rd continues to be a problem. I normally do 30 in when it is a 25mph zone and frequently have cars that pass me (Kennedy Rd is no passing) and other aggressive behavior such as flashing lights. Additional police presence is needed to help bring this aggressive behavior in check. This is a residential neighborhood not a highway/thruway. The stop sign at Mayflower and Kennedy Rd is also frequently run. Cars just keep going and don't slow down or stop. This is especially prevalent weekdays during the morning hours 6a-10a and afternoon/evening hours 4p-8p. It is very dangerous and I have witnessed several near misses. Can we get one of those real time speed limit signs for a few weeks or maybe even speed bumps/humps? Would love to see some additional police presence to help address these ongoing issues.

Good Morning. In regards to speeding complaints, the point of contact is Patrol Lieutenant Freeman. We can best assist the public with this type of complaint if we receive specific information during, just after the violations occur. We encourage members of the public to contact us ASAP and we will send a patrol officer out.
In regards to the singage or speed bump request, the police department does not handle that. The Engineering department oversees the asset management of the Town's non-building infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, stormwater drainage systems, street lights, and traffic signals; speak to Bob Dinello.
Regarding the speeding complaint, please call us at (860)688-5273; you can remain anonymous.
I will forward this to Lt. Freeman's attention. Thank you.
