City staff have reviewed this complaint and found the residents legally parking on their driveway and not the sidewalk. They are in compliance with all current city codes.
If someone is taking wheelchair bound elderly parents around the block, must go into the street to get around this van and suv. If a young family want to take their kids for a walk, must go into street to get around this mess. How can these residents be in compliance? This is not a used car lot. This is a safety issue. Photo taken in May, van still there. Who is Brian Passwaters?

Thank you, Brian! After at least 6 months, the van has been removed! But the owners had a big yard sale and needed the space, so it may reappear.
This is a safety and neighborhood issue on E. Russell and Ryan. We all have front porches and would love to greet our neighbors as they walk with children and elderly. However, if you drive down these streets any Saturday or Sunday, you'll see cars parked across the sidewalks. A few warnings and tickets would cure that, and add to the City coffers.
Here on E. Russell we just had our sidewalks repaired - how long will those last?
The van has not reappeared! But it has been replaced by an SUV. This isn't the only code violation. Must still go into the street to go around many cars in this neighborhood. I believe I'm fighting a losing battle. You'd think the city of carrollton would be interested in preserving this quaint old neighborhood. I sure would like to take a walk around the block without having to walk in the street. Sure would like to sit on the porch and say hi to my neighbors as they walk by. But if they do walk by, they walk in the street, or don't walk at all, because they don't want to have to walk in the street. Do you suppose cars are allowed on the sidewalks on the streets where counsel members live?
I guess I'll close this issue. The van for sale is gone, but has been replaced. There are still cars parked on the sidewalks as we try to walk around these blocks on Saturday and Sunday.
It's really a shame. These are sturdy little houses with large yards. It could be a lovely old neighborhood and it's so close to the new DART rail station.
This old neighborhood is beneath the City of Carrollton radar. Out of sight, out of mind.
And I'm right back where I started! The code says no parking on the sidewalk. Lots of folks in my neighborhood park accross the sidewalk. We have a code enforcement department, but codes are not enforced. Does anyone else see a problem here? Give out some warnings, then start fining these folks!
