Description
The traffic light at the intersection of N. Shallowford and Dunwoody Park/Lake Ridge Lane is in bad need of a reset. Those trying to leave Lake Ridge Lane (The Columns at Lake Ridge) often have to see for 5 or more minutes before the light changes to allow a left turn or to go straight (green light), even when there is no one travelling along N. Shallowford. The crosswalk timing is also incorrect, because even after the countdown, it is usually at least 90 seconds before the traffic signal begins to change.

We've reviewed the recorded statistics at this traffic signal and the maximum cycle length here was 150 seconds. The pedestrian countdown might be defying expectations because at most intersections the signal will switch to the side street immediately after the main street countdown ends; however at this intersection there is a period of time in the cycle that is reserved for the diagonal pedestrian crossing phase, but if it is not activated the pedestrian signals will all rest on "don't walk" until the scheduled point in the cycle for the side street phase. We will evaluate the traffic signal controller settings to see if the side street phase can activate earlier in the cycle if there is no diagonal pedestrian crossing.
