Q. What pedestrian and traffic safety elements would you like the city to consider?

Q. Additional Information
A. Currently, pedestrians are only given crossing signal to cross Grand if someone pushes button. This is out of character for neighborhood and often results in people waiting a long time or crossing without signal. Alternatively, install motion detectors, like cars have. Cars do not need to press button for them to get a green light.

WHAT??? What does this even mean??? Why would cars need to push button when it's a traffic light, to regulate traffic???

That light only changes to green for cars heading north if a motion sensor or something similar detects a car waiting. I am proposing that they add one for pedestrians, I.e, a motion sensor for detecting when a pedestrian is waiting and then a walk signal will automatic be given at the next internal - which is usually when the two adjacent traffic lights on Grand turn red. Of course I think the better option is just to give a pedestrian signal at each interval.
Right now, pedestrians have to push a button to get a walk signal.
