The City of Oakland Public Works Agency has received this issue. It is registered as service request # 481466. Please check back for status updates or contact us directly at (510) 615-5566.
City of Oakland does not handle encampments under overpasses. CalTrans handles these issues. These CalTrans phone numbers are listed on Oakland's Public Works webpage:
(415) 330-6500 (graffiti on signs, striping, electrical issues)
(510) 614-5942 (illegal dumping, pot holes, homeless encampment, overgrown vegetation)
This is incorrect. This issue has been reported to Caltrans and this is there response:
"This area is maintained by the City of Oakland and they remove the homeless on a regular basis. They have a similar issue on 29th St also."
THIS is wrong- Nothing has been done- over 6 men living there and doing/selling drugs there now as of Thursday 9-19/
WAKE UP- they keep coming back and threaten women and school children on a daily basis under there.
also fires, urine and fecal matter are utmost rampant there constantly at any time of day or night.
Good lord- when will it finally end.
????? I am tired of these criminals! Caltrans and police do NOTHING!
heroine needles and violent transients who are mentally ill beyond compare.
Seriously!
They have moved the same structure right around the corner to the intersection of 41st and 42nd Street, Oakland. This is the grassy area they were previously removed from. I have witnessed them openly doing drugs and urinating in public. My friend who lives nearby saw one of them break the window of a pick up truck last night.
