Descrição

As I drive around town I see many cars throwing trash out of their windows. Nothing is being enforced about littering fines in Mecklenburg County. If we increase the fines to $2500 and enforce them to get the message out to not litter and respect our city and county. Part of the "Get Out of Ghetto" campaign.

I agree with Neighbor. I am in Matthews (Meck County). Part of the problem is trash collectors who spill trash and do not clean up. 311 is called and no one appears. I am embarrassed to have visitors come from out-of-town. Why is it the Matthews Town Dept replies to their residents but there are no replies here from Meck County? Why does it seems that all of these issues are still open? Does the County know of this site?

I agree, Taxpayer, I do not believe anyone ever responds to any of the issues. I keep posting and hoping though.

And why do people keep throwing cigarettes out of the car window and think that is ok ? It IS littering and a fire hazard

I was stop at a light north at Monroe Rd and Sardis North and someone in front of me threw out a potato ship bag and other miscellaneous trash. I was so in shock that it delayed me from getting a license plate #.

I see nothing has changed on the status of higher littering fines from Mecklenburg County. I agree I don't think the county knows about this site because they do not post anything. Or they just don't care about the county they run.

Little signs of what the fines are are not placed in Mecklenburg county. I find that posting pictures of the trash on tweeter seems to get a response from Mecklenburg County. They do not view this site, I have requested many times that they should use this site but they will not.
