Description
This is not so much a sewage leakage, but an oder, that has been happening for several months now. The city has come out before to see if there was back up in the lines, and all was clear. A city worker at that time said they can place something in the sewage to stop the oder, not sure if that occurred. Smell is still very noticeable, can this be looked at again. Thank you.

I'm glad we've had a wastewater crew visit the site and you were able to speak with them.
I'm going to ask folks to make another trip to the area to look for the root cause.
In the mean time, we do have deodorizer for the WW collections system on order and will do our best to find the most appropriate location (manhole) in the area to install a dispenser.

I'm closing this issue, but please call either utilities dispatch at 863-1200 or metro dispatch at 722-2002 (after hours) if you notice an odor again.
We spent some time popping manholes for inspection, and videotaping lines on 2nd and 3rd Streets to monitor their condition.
I'm hopeful that this issue doesn't arise again, but if it does, please do report it.

We have a Wastewater Collections crew on its way out there.
If you'd like to call Nicole at 863-1207, she can put you in touch with the staff that will be out there and you can explain the issue in person or over the phone.
I'm going to check the status of our deodorizer odor and see if we can do something today.

Update from the WW folks in the area:
A deodorizer drip unit will be installed in the manhole tomorrow, since we now have this material in stock.
They will also be inserting a camera into the wastewater line to see if there is something cracked or obstructing the flow.
