Sorry, the app dropped the subject line I guess. The intersection is Barstow and Alameda. It's a obvious mess and the city (?) did a "repair" by dropping a few shovels of blacktop on the west end last week. Not sure what that was about but it doesn't begin to address the issue or solve any problem. A student was hit a killed a couple hundred feet from there a few years back and it's bound to happen again unless the safety at this intersection is taken seriously. Thank you.

Dirt has been cleaned up and a couple of potholes were filled but that's not really the issue. The street is in poor condition, the developer has yet to install sidewalk/curb and drainage as agreed, drivers bypass the stop signs and it's a regular sight to see kids running out of the way of cars. It's a dangerous street that needs attention.

Per the Department of Municipal Development, "A new gutter was bladed into the undeveloped area, we'll monitor it during the monsoons. Without the SE corner being developed by the private developer, we cannot add curbs to the intersection."

It will need attention again after each rain because the mud will wash into the intersection. This was a superficial fix of just one corner, not the intersection. The NE corner IS developed and the developer was required to put in curb and gutter. He receives extensions ecpvery year and has for about 9-10 years now. That corner is where drivers bypass the intersection altogether and I guarantee (likely a kid walking home or to school) someone will be killed there eventually. It's a dangerous situation at a busy intersection with poor signage and no crosswalks or other street markings. It is the most overlooked and unsightly intersections within miles. I don't think anyone can disagree with that. The city and or the developer has droped the ball here.

The new bladed gutter was washed out with just a few rains before they reworked a new "gutter" last week. Already it's partially washed out into the intersection with the rain and now the wider bladed are is is used as a bypass for the stop sign. This is ridiculous. A permanent solution is required. These temporary and cheap fixes only make the problem worse AND create new problems such as bypassing the stop sign.

Still a mess. A flooded, ugly, dirty and dangerous mess. It's only worse after the temporary fix since now the intersection and south of the intersection flood when it rains as it did again this AM. We've been promised improvements for 9 years and still nothing. Not acceptable especially with the high property taxes we pay for this area.

I don't see why the city can't install curb and gutter for at least the NE corner as has been promised. That corner has been developed since 1999. And there's no reason discretionary funds can't be used to improve the SE corner. The curb, sidewalk and gutter would be on city right of way, not private property.
