Captain McCabe, this is Brian Lyman, 726 Holyoke Rd. Once again the trucks running to and from the Lane quarry have started their relentless, all night runs, further deteriorating the quality of life in our neighborhood. I understand that there is little that can be done, although a city ordinance prohibiting the quarry to be operational between 8:00 pm and 6:00 am would seem to be a reasonable solution.

Short of that, I would extend to you an invitation to put a sector car in my driveway at any time during the night to monitor the speed of these trucks. Many are now traveling much too fast for this road, I would estimate in the 40-45 mph range, particularly at night when other traffic is light. I am afraid that one slip up, nod off, or distracted driver could easily create a disasterous consequence.
