If zoning comes out to inspect lighting complaints, why don’t they investigate having a construction sized dumpster in a backyard. If it’s legal you can disregard my question. I was walking down Harral Avenue and looked up and saw the dumpster in the backyard of Vine Street. I installed a six foot fence, which is next door to the dumpster. I’m looking to erect something that is approximately nine feet high. My greatest fear is a fire which will impact my property. I have seen a toilet, mattresses, toys car parts etc...As a home owner I would like to get a construction dumpster so I can request a reduction in my municipal taxes because I only get trash pickup and I pay privately for leaf pickup. I clean in front of my home and across the street is a common dog pooping area and trash is always on Vine street. I’m embarrassed living in this area. As a member of the 131 DTC, I don’t have a voice to really help anyone. I’ve called members of the town committee to discuss my concerns and I don’t get a return call. It’s election time so some calls may be heard and not acted on.
