I agree, the traffic volume on Weatherly Road here is usually fast, and often heavy too. It will gain even more traffic soon from the extensive Haysland Road SW development right across the Parkway. Yes, I live on Weatherly and Camille. There are a lot of children who cross in front of my house to get to the Lilly Flag pool that is at Camille and Lilly Flag Rd. An additional pedestrian crossing would be beneficial!

I agree with this. I drive down Lilly Flagg quite often. A pedestrian crosswalk with flashing lights may be beneficial - just like the one that is by the AMC Theater on Jones Valley.

Thank you for contacting the City of Huntsville Traffic Engineering Division. The consideration for a signal is based on a few factors, one being traffic volumes to meet the warrant associated in signalizing an intersection. Based on our knowledge of the roadway, and fact that nothing has changed at this intersection to warrant increased traffic ( increased traffic ) , TE does not believe that a signal would warrant were we to perform an extensive study. Please note that Haysland Road is under construction and no developments that would generate traffic have been constructed yet, hence the volumes should be the same as they were without the roadway. TE can perform a more detailed analysis in the future, when the roadway is fully constructed and volumes increase , after Covid restricts are over.

As i next mention the following tangential consideration, i hope to not distract any attention away from the more important fact you guys do great work on behalf of all of us.
One secondary factor was mentioned above, which would perhaps lead to re-opening this study issue.... namely the eventual contribution from Haysland Road's upcoming role as an artery.
Another likewise secondary-type issue could be identified as being.... the late afternoon backups on the southbound Parkway. Which routinely occur weekdays at the first red light south of all its overpasses. And which may incentivize folks to seek-out detours via various routes, which all start-out with turning eastbound onto Weatherly.
Once again, i had mentioned that secondary consideration about the Parkway back-ups only in passing, as being something which could continue to be monitored.... and regret that i unfortunately sounded as-if-quarrelsome, when the far more important message i wish to convey is that....
We citizens of Huntsville are lucky indeed, to have city public servants, among us as great neighbors, who have proven they are always motivated to do the right thing in a professional way.
