Hỏi. Please provide more information about the location of the pothole (ex. closest intersection, nearby milestones, etc)
Đáp. Every 50 feet, on the "Green Line" side of the street, roughly opposite the new Tufts utility plant) there are a series of square asphalt patches that have all caved in. Depth varies. About 4 square feet in size with a ~8" diameter silver disk near the center. Seems like a water or survey marker that's been "pounded down" at the center and now makes a dangerous pothole

On the theory that these may have been Green Line Extension survey markers or soil/water test locations, I called the GLX Hotline (Construction Hotline (855) 459-4636) and reported them there also.
I'd say there's a decent change that as survey/test/inspection locations, they might be related to the retaining wall for the future Tufts/Medford College Ave station being built all along here.

GLX Hotline reports back, says, "call Eversource" re:Utility Monitoring Point
We checked in with our GLX-C engineer who oversees our utility work. He said “UMP” stands for Utility Monitoring Point and advised that you give Eversource as call as it is not related to GLX work. Thanks for checking in to see if it is related to GLX construction. I imagine Eversource might be a bit busy after the storm yesterday perhaps Medford’s SeeClickFix can serve offer a temporary solution until Eversource is able to get out to address the problem
