there are three large sections of curb edge that have not been restored as well. this prevents people from parking in these areas as well as one of them is in a handicap ramp for a corner entrance to sidewalk. no use of this corner is available to those that need the use of this ramp.

I would like to add that its frustrating that no parking signs are put up on the street on a regular basis yet the work on the street is sporadic. There seems to be little planning involved in this project and little concern for the residents of this community. Too many days have gone by where there was a sign prohibting street parking when there was no WSSS worker in sight. Also once the county vehicles blocked cars in the parking lot for a full Saturday. There was no notice that certain parts of the parking lot would be inaccessible and that was incredibly rude.

I am pleased to see workers in the area working on the water lines which I am sure is progress. However after every new dig, there is a very poor resurfacing job done on the road, and a 4WD vehicle is practically required to navigate it. If you don't mind driving on the wrong side of the road you can get a less damaging ride, and as a result city bus 10B has done this as well, almost hitting an oncoming car. no fault to the bus driver the road is not safe to be on.

Why must the crews start jackhammering the road/sidewalk at 7am? The work on the road USED to start at 8 or 9 but now it has been bummed up to 7. What gives? Can't I get some peace and quiet while enjoying my breakfast??? The apartment community sent a letter a week or two ago saying that the road was finished and that the next step would be to pave around April 18 or so but this seems to be never ending.

Thank you for reporting this issue. Work on Arlington streets generally starts at around 7 AM for activities such as paving, curb and gutter repair and asphalt patching which is consistent with the County's noise ordinance (7A-9P M-F, 10A-9P S-S). The water main installation (now complete) was more disruptive to traffic in the area, so that work was starting a bit later in the morning to allow for traffic to die down a bit and also to ensure that any of the affects to water services happened after folks have had a chance to prepare for the day rather than shutting off water too early in the morning.

The work is close to complete. The main is installed and in service, the individual connections are tied back in, the old main is abandoned and much of the patching and restoration has also been completed. Some additional curb, gutter and sidewalk adjustments are now going to happen in preparation for paving the whole street along the project limits.
