Per Danny Smallwood’s research, this back alley, parallel to Ash Street, is an access alley, for the convenience of the property owners, not a MBC alley to maintain. For example, if you were trying to bring in furniture to these houses, at the corner of Ross Street and Ash Street, or the houses nearby, on Ash Street, the steep steps to all of these houses would be a problem. The rear access alley solves that problem.
