Description

There used to be a single lane traffic only sign halfway down the hill on inbound Brighton Ave. The Sign at the top of the hill still says "Do Not Pass" and there are several signs stating "Single lane traffic only" on both sides up and down Brighton Ave except there. On Tuesday I witnessed an accident at the intersection of Brighton Ave and Massachusetts Ave as an individual attempted to drive around a full lane of cars including a city bus (All of whom were in the roadway, single file). Traffic was stopped for a train coming through the intersection and the city bus rather than blocking the exit to Massachusetts Ave, Stopped Just Prior and let two cars out. The first got through without issue but the second was cut off presumably illegally as the driver of a small hatchback drove around multiple cars including the city bus straddling the double yellow line as they made contact right front to right rear. I don't know what happened but someone could have been seriously hurt. This sign needs to be replaced as soon as possible. It becomes a two lane road just before the railroad but people use the entire road down the hill as a two lane road and it isn't safe.
