No, the problem hasn't been fixed and in fact hasn't even been checked out by Penndot. It will most likely take a bad accident before they do anything about it.

The heavy rains this past weekend took away a little more of the base of the roadbed. Penndot doesn't seem concerned about it but I'm sure they will when that road caves in and some unsuspecting driver goes off onto the field. When it happens I will be very happy to share all I know about this ongoing issue that one day will cause a problem and an injury!

Why would this problem be fixed? Penndot doesn't care about it and won't until someone is hurt. Someday the roadbed will cave in because each big storm washes away a little bit more of the base. There are many school buses and oil delivery trucks that travel the road and they are the most likely to be effected. When it happens I will be the first onhand to explain how Penndot had no care whatsoever about the problem. I personally contacted them three times and so far they are too busy at Dunkin Donuts or somewhere else to get out and fix it. Thankfully I have no one who rides the bus or drives a truck!

Penndot cares only if you live in Philadelphia, Harrisburg or Pittstburg -
If you happen to live anywhere else in Pa - you are left to the local townships and that is being like S.O.L - the locals don't care

Thanks for the reply, David, and I fully agree with you about Penndot. The last rain we had from Irene took away a little bit more of the road base and now I can see small cracks in the macadam. I am very glad I don't have any children riding those buses and go west on Harmonyville Road. It will cave in someday when something heavy goes across it.

Here are a couple of photos of the problem area. The first one shows the roadbed base being eaten away and the second one shows the cracks in the road. Owen J. Roberts Transportation Dept. has been notified but so far nothing has been done that I know about.

It hasn't been fixed yet and I don't think anyone will work on it until the roadbed caves in. I will let you know immediately when that happens. Let's hope there are no children on a bus when it goes.

Finally after 7 years and some pleading from the school district transportation department Penndot has fixed the problem, at least temporarily.
