Description

These new bike lanes are going to cause at accident!...especially at night. The road is not well lit and because of these bike lanes (that no one uses), you’ve pushed the lanes closer together. People are crossing the median and because of bike lane markers, you are left with almost zero space to swerve and avoid the person in the oncoming lane who’s crossed the median. Additionally, because you decided to put absurdly tall markers, now you risk damage to your car in order to swerve and avoid the oncoming car. I’ve already had a few near misses. This is effect compounded at night because the road isn’t well lit. So you have very little time to react since you can’t see the median well enough further up the road. This is dangerous and it going to cause an accident and/or car damage. Even before these markers went up, people would cross the median, but it wasn’t a big deal as there was ample room to move and avoid them. Now there isn’t.

Additionally, the markers are too close together. Despite the previous comments saying these are 40ft apart, when traveling and having an emergency vehicle fast approach you, there is not enough space to quickly pull over, slow down and then ave the room needed to pull back out in the road. I don’t understand these and they are accidents waiting to happen...especially at night.
