Volunteers Needed:
The City of Kent partners with Kent residents and groups through our Adopt-A-Spot Stewardship program. This highly valued partnership with our Adopters plays a key role in maintaining our City. The City of Kent is accepting applications for new volunteers. The City provides volunteers supplies (bags, safety vests and litter grabbers) for litter pick up events as well as the disposal of any collected trash.

We have been advised that due to safety conditions, this work will be postponed until drier weather allows access. We will continue to update you with the progress of this request and notify you once it has been completed.

I have forwarded the additional information and new photos provided to our Special Emphasis crew for review to see if we can remove these items even though we have the slope area scheduled for cleanup when conditions are safer.

The original request for service was dated November 24, 2020.

Illegal encampment cleanup is a very expensive and time consuming task. There are no funds currently available to address these areas. We continue to research different funding opportunities which may include grants targeting this type of cleanup. We will update this request as the situation changes.

Hello, After recent review of this request with staff we have determined that we are unable to address this concern at this time. This is a Public Works area of response. However, at this time staff do not have adequate resources to safely clear this area. We have been unable to acquire necessary funding for this project. Our resources are limited, and work must be prioritized in way that will be of best use of our community. Thank you for reporting this request, we will continue to monitor the area and this report has been flagged to be reopened if funding or resources later become available and we are able to clean the area.
