delays are unfortunate. so was the accident rate before the traffic light.

The accident rates will occur everywhere. I've loved on that area for 50 years and none of our friends have even been in an accident. Why not put traffic lights at all intersections?
The signal is poorly engineered and the city and its staff are too afraid to make a decision against an engineer who made a mistake. It doesn't make any sense to stop traffic on Parker at in favor of rt 9 off ramps. Of its so dangerous there, then close it down.
The traffic light caused 29 cars to wait in line for 4 cars to get off rt 9. Truth is the city took state money from the new chestnut hill shopping centers and is bound by it. Suckers. Can't wait to vote again.

Jay, I've lived here for 43 years. I guess my opinion doesn't count? it was in the top 5 accident locations for the city. Just ask the NPD. My wife was hit there not long before the light was installed. The Parker Street green cycle is much longer than the Route 9 green, because of the disproportionate vehicle count you describe. But I agree, the mall and the traffic mitigation in general was a disaster.
