It seems the City of Chicopee is being neglected by the Governor's office in setting up vaccination sites and assigning drug stores in Chicopee to provide vaccines. Governor Baker will focus on small communities in Springfield to set up sites for vaccinations, but nothing at all is addressed for us in Chicopee. I am hoping our City Officers will contact the Governor's office for their voice is much louder than mine alone for I have no official title save for Advocate for the Elderly in Chicopee, MA. I do hope some of you will help my unselfish cause? Governor Baker needs to give our excellent Mayor View the tools to make things happen.

A. Dear Governor Baker, It really does seem the City of Chicopee is being ignored regarding vaccines. i checked your list of RX stores giving the vaccine, and none in Chicopee are evident at all. Springfield seems to be heavily favored. and Chicopee has nothing iin sites to vaccinate. Why not open up the senior centers in Chicopee and allow vaccines to those having an i.d. or proof of residence, and use last names say A to D for certain day to have the vaccine and continue each day then repeat starting with A again for those missed the vaccine rather than slow it all down with appointments? There are elderly public housing areas in Chicopee you could send teams to vaccinate. Monica Blazic Director of the Housing Authority could send out flyers on the dates as Mayor View could using census listings and birth dates. I wish you would call the excellent Mayor View and arrange to send him vaccine lots and support for it seems we are totally ignored or forgotten. Peter Pan bus lines now have Covid prepared buses to travel to communities and the state only has to supply the vaccine and people to give it. You could send buses to the Chicopee Health Center right next door to a major elderly complex and within reach to the elderly. It seems discussions are underway to visit enclave communities in Springfield, but no mention of Chicopee, Granby, South Hadley, and so on. Will you PLEASE address this matter soon>I have written to you many times about the plight of seniors and you never reply. I would like to think, you care about the elderly in smaller cities. Thank you, Keith Aldrige

Good morning Mr. Aldridge,
Chicopee is the second largest city in Western MA and it does appear that we are being overlooked. Mayor Vieau has been very vocal at trying to get some small scale clinics here in Chicopee. Hopefully some of the pharmacies here in Chicopee will be selected to give the vaccine.
