St Pauls Ave is not eligible for speed humps due to the vehicular volumes along this roadway; however, we will install curb extensions and Rapid Rectangular Flashing Beacons (RRFBs), or user-actuated flashing pedestrian crossing signs, at the intersection of St Paul Ave and Skillman Ave to warn drivers that pedestrians are waiting to cross the street.

There are RRFBs at this crossing but they do not deter speeding cars. Also the crossing on the road is barely visible as shown in the photo.

Jennifer, the issue is that we should NOT have the this much vehicular volume! We have become a truck route due to the city's refusal to add appropriate signage informing drivers that the truck route is Newark Ave. Our houses are from the 1900's and are developing cracks and the brick is turning to dust due to the amount of trucks allowed on our street. We have become a shortcut to the tunnel and other highways like 139 when in fact we are a residential road. Your response to Tim is really dismissive of the issues the residents of Saint Pauls have repeated voiced.

To say we can not have a stop sign feels like a double standard as they are all over down town on busy roads. I do understand the speed bump issue for emergency vehicles.

They never finished painting the curb extensions on saint pauls and liberty and it looks awful. now all the white poles are laying all over the ground. Please do not add any "solutions" that do not address the root of the issue and that no one will install correctly or maintain.

What about the new stop signs on Jersey Avenue downtown...which is a 2 Lane Rd. among brownstones. They dont have vehicular volume?????

It is frustrating that taxes are going up every year yet the conditions of the neighborhood deteriorate.

A new configuration on St. Pauls Avenue has been installed following a community engagement process. Centerline delineators will be installed and the JCMUA is finishing sewer replacement work on Liberty Avenue to complete the project. The Department will continue to monitor conditions following installation.
