February 2015 again as I drive around town I see fire hydrants buried under the snow. The one in front of the library was buried for about a week before someone cleared it. The fire hydrant in front of the YMCA on the North side of Elm street was buried as still is as this reporting. The Town DPW,Water Dept and Fire Dept. have a job to have these cleared but do you find them clearing them out "NO" So what do they do to ? "Nothing" I spoke to some from the Town and they said it was the Water Dept that owns the hydrants. I thought that the Town of Wallingford owned the hydrants. So the Water Dept owns the hydrants, the Fire Dept uses them during a fire and the Dept of Public Works buries them during a snow storm !!!! Am I missing something here, yet they are under the Town's payroll ???? Pass the Buck again it seems again in this town.
