Description

When cars exit Chevy Chase Circle on southbound Connecticut Ave, often at higher speeds, someone will try to turn left onto Oliver St. NW at this intersection which is immediately after exiting the circle. This has resulted in numerous fender benders. Not only is it dangerous when cars try to turn left here, but it also ends up backing up traffic into Chevy Chase Circle and then blocking traffic throughout it when the car has to wait for an opening. This often does not happen for quite some time due to there not being a dedicated left turn light. Cars should only be allowed to turn left off of Connecticut after this intersection. It will be much safer and it will allow traffic to flow through Chevy Chase Circle much better than it currently is.
