To user ridingsma: I cannot comprehend why issues are handled by CityLink the way that they are. I know this is the second time you've had to submit this report. It makes no sense to me that CityLink does not respond to user queries and they close issues even though they are not resolved. I've been trying for months to urge CityLink to be more attentive to the impression SeeClickFix users get from their interactions here, to no avail. I can tell you from firsthand experience that there is a critical leadership failure in that department. I hope things can improve soon.

I noticed it today - between Springdale and Northwest Blvd - there is a huge pothole and you can see the rebar! Please fix this before someone gets hurt. I hate to think about the parts we can't see.

Ok, so some patchwork was done. but it was a really half-assed job, and many holes were left undone! how do you go and fix some of the holes and not others? This is ridiculous! Now we're going to get freezing rain on Tuesday and it'll just go into the cracks and undo everything you just did. Great job.

From an email to me, dated 03/24/14, from Ryan Newcomb, Assistant Director of the Department of Transportation:

"The repairs needed to the deck are beyond our capabilities in-house. Patching with asphalt or cold patch is a temporary measure not really addressing the real issue. Staff is working on getting prices from contractors to issue a Purchase Order for the work to be completed. This process takes time to get through in order to get someone under contract. There is no reason to leave the [Service Request (SR)] open for that duration. However, the customer again is only seeing that the SR is closed without seeing any notes explaining what process staff is undertaking to address the concern."

I agree, ridingsma. And I hope they will. Also, I shared that info from the email because it's an example of how CityLink and/or the City should itself be posting these kinds of updates to issues. We aren't the ones who ought to have to post these explanatory updates: it should come directly from the City.
