This is typical of how city easements are left after repairs/construction,especially in the central city areas. While mowing for neighbors and an empty Habitat for Humanity lot,my riding mower has been stuck in "holes" so deep it took 3 men to get it out.The operating motto seems to be "nobody in the area cares and neither do we"

We had a project with KDOT to resurface 8th Street and install bike lanes. During that project, the contractor tore up some yards and did not put them back to City requirements. I was not able to make the contractor fix the work because the City requirements were not in the contract. As such, I enacted a project to sod several yards on the south side of 8th. While I was preparing my project, we began a project to replace the sidewalks. The sidewalk project tore up yards on both sides of 8th due to all the rain, and that project has not yet finished up. Once the areas dry out well enough, that contractor will grade and seed the areas adjacent to the sidewalks and the sodding contractor will come in and sod. Please note that the sodding contractor has a limited amount of work, in designated locations, where they will be allowed to place sod and it will not be in all the areas where the sidewalks were replaced; those will be seeded.

Apologies for the delay on an updated comment. Our inspector has spoken with the owner and she is okay with the overall plan to address her yard. In September, the sod contractor is going to place sod along 8th Street as part of this project which includes this address. Thank you once again for using SeeClickFix Topeka!
