Thank you for the inquiry. You are right that this is unsitely and does not reflect the image that the City wants to convey. The fencing and baricades were installed to insure safety for the public and employess that visit the facaility or park. Serveral years ago we had some marble come loose so we preformed a through inspection and found that the marble was unstable in some places. The cost to totally repair the marble facade exceeds the investment for a facility of its age and use. We continually monitor the marble and remove or secure any that show movement until a final decision is made concerning the facility's future.
