Why is running that stop sign unsafe? If there is another car, either northbound on Ft. Williams or on Tupelo, then I will stop. If there is a pedestrian, I will stop or proceed with caution. The visibility is excellent there. As long as you're alone, there is no need to stop. I routinely run that stop sign and I've never operated in an unsafe manner. This is not a safety issue.

Running a stop sign is by definition unsafe and unlawful. I have almost been run over by drivers like you who think they are paying attention but really are only looking for other vehicles.

It would help if the Alex. police monitored the speeding on Ft Williams Pky and the running of this stop sign.

Also - when the City has been asked to install speed bumps - they say there is no money for them. Yet - in Del Ray area (Russell Rd I think) they are installing NEW speed bumps. Appears to be an inequity.

Also - on any given Friday afternoon - I have seen a dozen cars blow through this intersection going over the posted speed limit.

... It makes one wonder if it takes a death or other tragedy to get something done. At that point it may take a law suit against the city for negligence.

This situation is worse. Alexandria police should at least monitor the intersection. Also - the Stop sign is now not visible due to overgrowth of tree branches
