It looks like a particularly bad one where there is a storm drain will be repaired… maybe all the others can be fixed at the same time? I ride my bike to work and to town and these potholes are particularly dangerous for bikes. Also this is the main road into Amherst for many people coming to visit the colleges… seems like this road should be one that has a more positive reflection for those visiting the town.

A pole along the S turn coming south from Henry St. to Northeast St. is a hazard. This section was re-engineered a few years ago, and within months there was a fatal accident there. I worry that a second one is coming. On the right side of the southbound lane there is now a paved side swale but then with no warning there is a utility pole in the middle of it, close to the road.
I don’t know the details of the fatal accident, but it’s easy to imagine someone driving south in the dark, maybe too fast (everyone does on that section, and it goes downhill after a long flat), maybe with some alcohol in them (happens), maybe in the rain. They make the first half of the S-curve but are thrown to the right in the second half, a few feet into the paved swale, and then there’s the utility pole right in their path.
Simplest step would be reflectors on the pole (there are none now), and/or signage or road stripes. Better yet would be one of those trash cans used to pad utility poles on the highway. Most expensive would be to move the pole back from the street.
These steps could save a young life.

A red arrow in Massachusetts allows a right on red after stopping. However, I have witnessed multiple moments where drivers seemed unsure of this and seen multiple moments of yelling and horn honking. A sign saying right on red arrow allowed after complete stop or a no turn on red sign (if that is the intention) would be great. With so many out of state drivers and different state laws around solid red arrows this intersection needs some signage to make it clear.
