Harvard Ave Medford, Massachusetts - Medford

Trying for the third time to get someone in the town to fix this very simple but dangerous situation. Traffic in both directions on Harvard Ave should be getting a green light, not just the traffic coming from Arlington.

15 Warren Street Medford, Massachusetts - Medford
Drivers cutting through this neighborhood are not stopping at the stop sign on the corner of Warren & Irving St and making this an unsafe area for pedestrians. Traffic enforcement has been so absent that these people are not even providing a courtesy pump of the brakes as they glide through. The Medford PD should stake out on Irving St during commuting hours and generate some revenue for the town at the expense of reckless self-interested drivers who are happy to shortcut through a residential area.

Hello. This issue was reported a while back, and it was closed as resolved on Sep 1st. I've since been through this intersection on bicycle more than 10 times and am sure the issue hasn't been resolved. The sensor to trigger a greenlight on Harvard Ave is not sensitive enough to see a cyclist stopped in the first car position, and for some reason the light will go green only on the side where a car is seen. Please take a look into this and let me know if you have any questions.

The light at this intersection isn't working properly. The sensor to detect if traffic is present is not aimed right or maybe not sensitive enough to see if a biker is standing in the position a car would be. The light also seems to be programmed so that it only lets one side of Harvard ave see a green if it doesn't detect cars on both sides.

What this means is - if I am coming down Harvard ave, and there isn't a car behind me, I will have to run a red light everytime. Even if the traffic opposite from me gets a green light. This needs to be fixed.

  • 481 High Street Medford, Massachusetts - Medford
On both lanes of High Street the road has worn away where it meets the train tracks. These giant pot holes cause cars to swerve out of the way, and are a liability for cyclists. Please repave this area so there is a smooth surface across the road. Thank you.

There are three thin maple trees at the corner of Hillcroft + Irving that are bend over the road, and one is over the powerlines. These should be removed before they grow larger and create significant problems.

We aren't sure how, but the Teele Court street sign was destroyed this past weekend. I don't reckon it can be repaired and a new one needs to be installed.
  • 4110 Mystic Valley Parkway Medford, Massachusetts - Medford
Every time I am driving through this intersection, I tell my passenger "count how many people run this next light". And sure enough, our light will go green and anywhere from 1-7 cars will fly by from left to right. I don't think this is just an enforcement issue - I think the light timing is totally off. If you were new to this area, quick to accelerate the green - it is a guaranteed accident.
  • 30 Canal St Medford, Massachusetts - Medford
The homeowner at 30 Canal St has let their bushes obstruct the sidewalk for several years. This is a busy street and my wife often needs to walk in the street itself when the bush is overgrown. As you can see from the pictures, this bush (even when trimmed) is covering half of the sidewalk. This person also has never shoveled their sidewalk in the snow - but the bush needs to go. The police should enforce these rules and not allow this home owners negligence put pedestrians in harms way.

In the heart of West Medford commuters blow through crosswalks every single day. If a pedestrian is unwilling to put yourself in harms way, the aggressive drivers trying to beat the traintracks will not stop for you. We need better signs placed in the center of the road, the lines repainted, and an occasional police officer enforcing what to me is the most basic sign of respect - letting pedestrians cross when they are standing in a crosswalk. Oh, and this is directly in front of a preschool to boot.
