"Engine breaking" by tractor trailers / semis on Concord Ave. is out of control.

This loud and disruptive practice degrades the quality of life for residents and neighbors and puts our historic homes and buildings at risk.

What can be done to prevent or minimize engine breaking?

This is especially problematic on the "down hill" section of the street from Huron Ave. towards Harvard Square.

Despite traffic calming measures, Concord Ave. outbound continues to be a traffic jam during morning rush hour. While some congestion is to be expected, there is a line of cars and loud trucks from the Huron Ave. intersection all the way down to the Craigie St. intersection. This is an enormous burden on residents who are left to contend with idling trucks, blaring car audio systems, and honking cars as the vehicles slowly (and impatiently) climb the hill on their way through Cambridge. A very frustrating and disappointing place to be in so many months after measures were put in place to avoidthis very problem.

I am standing in front of my condo building on Concord Avenue and I am very startled and frustrated by the traffic lining the outbound street between Huron Ave. and Craigie Street.

Currently, there is a solid line of cars, buses, delivery trucks, and construction vehicles up and down the street.

This is not a suitable traffic pattern and has an immediate negative impact on me and my neighbors on Concord Ave.

I am supportive of bicyclists and all modes of transport, but cannot believe that this is the best scenario for our fair Cambridge. This is not a good look for our city or the planning that goes into traffic upgrades / projects.

I hope that we can find an alternate solution that supports all.

    Respectfully submitted.
