The individual living within ten feet of my business door in an unregistered, non-working van is still here after 1.5 years.

Yesterday I cleaned up human feces near his car that had been collecting trash in the gutter for weeks. The 2 feet by 1 foot pile was covered with flies; the street is being used as a latrine. The city tree and our building are both covered in urine. I attempted to beach the area but was yelled at by the individual.

The individual has been seen by MACRO countless times and refuses housing every time. The “trust” that MACRO aims to establish is admirable but has not affected the situation.

I have reported this since January 2022. The corner is continuing to deteriorate and is getting more and more dangerous:

- additional people are living in cars in the market parking lot
- drug dealing and prostitution is occurring nightly in the market parking lot
- a shooting happened at the corner of 59th last week
- across the street, a man living in a tent on the sidewalk dumps his urine on the street and puts bags of waste in the city can in front of my business.

Oakland policy states that no homeless encampments can be within 50 feet of a business or school - this is both.

The situation is unsanitary, illegal and dangerous and yet no one will take action. As I mentioned in previous reports, the individual has been outside my school naked, has been seen masturbating and is often verbally abusive and erratic.
