Yesterday, I waited in vain for 20 minutes for the 1:02 to take me to an appointment downtown. Now running late, I hired an Uber. CT Transit responded to my online complaint and apologized, saying there had been a mechanical breakdown.

Isn't there a way to alert passengers to such delays? I am lucky enough to be able to afford the occasional Uber if necessary and I was going to an appointment, not a job.

But what about the many, many people who rely on public transportation to get them to their jobs? Who cannot afford an alternative and may be late and get fired?

New Haven MUST develop reliable public transportation. In 2016, there has to be some kind of app that can be used to alert people to mechanical breakdowns!

Black Subaru station wagon with 129RJX plates came thisclose to hitting me on my bike this afternoon. Caught up to her at light at Sachem and she refused to roll down her window. I used my outside voice to let her know she has to leave 3 feet between us. As she passed me again, she blew her horn and left maybe 2 feet. Last seen heading west on Humphrey. Am filing police report.

When is this property going to be finished? I see Eric Johnson is headed back. Wasn't he on the initial permit to rehab this building? Perhaps he can address this when he gets here in July? We are most concerned as we are planning to build a new house directly behind this building on Tilton. Thank you.

Urban art?

This morning at 4:45 I was awakened by a male neighbor across the street hollering to someone in the street, "Yo, get outta here!" There followed the sound of a car off in the distance, perhaps the getaway driver? Thought y'all should know.

Thought I read that by last November, the city would have GPS on its buses so that we can see where they are (like Uber). Has that happened? If so, where can I find the app and, if not, will it happen and when? Thanks!

Several days ago (it just occurred to me to report this year), a white truck stopped outside our house and a woman got out and entered our property. I saw her grab a metal trellis that is laying against a chain link fence in our front yard. I rapped on the window and she replaced it. So, I guess metal collectors are on the loose in the East Rock.

Seen on sidewalk in front of this area yesterday a Tommy Hilfiger package, torn open, empty. Addressed to David Mojir, 21 Pearl St. If you know him, you might want to let him know it appears to have been stolen.

Several weeks ago, I reported this sidewalk sported a 4-inch gap and now it seems to have risen another inch. The city said it would take action but so far ... nada.

A garbage truck (too dark to see signage) just huffed and puffed its noisy way down Bishop toward State. Such noise at such an early hour!! It then turned around and headed back down Bishop toward Orange, grinding and groaning all the way. Isn't there a noise ordinance in place to prevent this?

Last year, the city filled in all the potholes. They have been back for at least six months. Filling them in doesn't seem to work. Can we get a repavement? If you don't think it's a problem, city officials, please come take a drive and see if you can avoid even one hole.

Several times we have pulled out of our driveway to go left and are nearly hit by an oncoming car because often a truck or SUV is parked in front and we cannot see until we are already in the street. (It would be easier if people drove the speed limit but Bishop Street is a speed demon's delight.)

Could the city install a convex mirror on the tree directly across so that we could see if a vehicle is oncoming?
