Description
Yesterday, I waited in vain for 20 minutes for the 1:02 to take me to an appointment downtown. Now running late, I hired an Uber. CT Transit responded to my online complaint and apologized, saying there had been a mechanical breakdown.
Isn't there a way to alert passengers to such delays? I am lucky enough to be able to afford the occasional Uber if necessary and I was going to an appointment, not a job.
But what about the many, many people who rely on public transportation to get them to their jobs? Who cannot afford an alternative and may be late and get fired?
New Haven MUST develop reliable public transportation. In 2016, there has to be some kind of app that can be used to alert people to mechanical breakdowns!

It happened again today as I waited for the 12:02, which finally arrived at 12:19.
I remember being in Florence, Italy, in 2006 and marveling at the lighted signs at each stop, indicating when the bus would arrive. Ten years ago in technologically challenged Italy!

CT Transit should have a Bus Tracker app.
The buses are already equipped with GPS... It wouldn't be that difficult to implement.
That said, the SCF community doesn't care much for working class folks... they'd rather use their voices for more bike racks in front of their favorite bars and restaurants.
